Human Story: Illegal Gun Trade

Let me start by reiterating: LAQUAN MCDONALD, THE 17-YEAR OLD AFRICAN AMERICAN MALE MURDERED BY POLICE IN CHICAGO IN 2014, WAS ARMED WITH A KNIFE, HE DID NOT HAVE A GUN ON HIS PERSON. That fact aside, the South Side of Chicago has an epidemic of gun violence. And these guns are coming from somewhere.

Many of the gun rights advocates you hear from in the media and who represent the NRA are confused as to what kind of gun rights they deserve to have. The government, regardless of your party leanings, is not trying to take your guns away. They are trying to regulate the buying and selling of weapons so that weapons are registered to their owners which could work to stop some of the firearm illegal trade in America.

In cases where twenty-year olds are going to Indiana Gun Shows to legally buy unregistered guns to take them back to Chicago’s South Side so that they can be used to kill kids like 9-year old Tyshawn Lee, then my rights shouldn’t take precedence over the protection of vulnerable Americans. Many of these Americas, by the way, slip through the cracks of protections under the constitution so trying to compare their rights to my own is offensive and not worthy of blog space.

White it is my constitutional right to bear arms, defend myself, my land and my family, and my belief that the liberal mainstream media is facilitating the end of American liberties – I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THESE RIGHTS AND BELIEFS ARE OF HEAVIER OR MORE VALUABLE SIGNIFICANCE THAN THE RIGHTS OF BLACK AMERICANS ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO REMAIN ALIVE. AND THE NRA HAS A RESPONSIBILITY TO THE CONSTITUTION TO ENSURE THAT THEY ARE REPRESENTING ANYONE WHO IS PROTECTED OR SHOULD BE PROTECTED BY THE DOCUMENT THEY CLAIM TO STAND BEHIND.
